Auf Wiedersehen my friends

by September 12, 2013 About Christoph Waltz

Dear Friends,

I would like to announce that I am stepping down as the main admin of . has grown by leaps and bounds since our humble beginnings as the Daily Dozen on Tumblr back in 2010.  When I first had the idea for the site, it was a challenge that I set for myself: to make a fansite that would be officially recognied and to become the foremost internet presence for Christoph Waltz, a fine actor and wonderful human being.  CWF has met both goals and then some.  Along the way I have been privileged to meet and develop amazing friendships with some truly wonderful people.  I’ve seen how Hollywood works and observed what fame is really all about.  I’ve also had the opportunity to visit Los Angeles and New York City, and be a part of something that is completely removed from the world of a housewife from Pennsylvania.

However, the main reason CWF came into existence was to give myself a hobby that was easy to do and amusing enough to provide a mental break from the reality of my life:  In 2009, my darling son was diagnosed as being on the Autism spectrum.  Out of necessity, I had to go on sabbatical from grad school, and devote myself to his full time rehabilitation and early intervention to ensure that he would have the absolute best care which would give him the chance to lead a normal life.  CWF provided the break I needed from the world of worry and stress that comes with being a caregiver to a special needs child.  I was able to run the website from my iPad or phone while I was in waiting rooms.  Talking about the site and planning different features and projects was a mental exercise that helped preserve my sanity and keep the worry over my son at bay.  It helped me retain an identity of my own, apart from the world of diagnoses, OT, PT, Speech, wraparound, TSS, BSC, and all the other fun things that come along with the world of Autism Spectrum Disorders.

My son started Kindergarten a month ago, in a normal school.  He brings home work done in class which is completely error-free.  His behavior chart is consistantly marked “good”.  He will always be ‘on the spectrum’, but the early intervention and intensive therapies we have done since 2009 have given him the foundation he needed to be able to excel in school and in the world.  No parent on Earth could be more proud of their child, and the way he has overcome his early setbacks.  Because of this, I now find myself in a place where I am able to restart my career path and return to graduate school.  I have been accepted to begin in January.  Until then, I am volunteering my time at my son’s school to help build and organize their library.

I feel that I have taken CWF as far as I can manage, while I am at the helm of the site.  I accomplished the goals I set out for the site and have created something that is bigger than myself, something that will last even when I am not actively participating in it.  It has been an amazing ride, and I have learned so much from the site, and all of you.  I treasure the friendships I have made, and the knowledge I have gained from the site will help me throughout my life.

I have asked Chelsea and Leyla to step in as the main admins.  Chelsea has been a fan of Mr. Waltz since 2000, and is very passionate about CWF and spreading knowledge about his career.  Leyla runs CWF Italia and has proven to be a very valuable member of the team.  I will remain in contact in an advisory role, and still retain ownership of the site, however, Chelsea will be making the decisions on the site from this point on.   I feel certain between both of them, that CWF will continue to grow and serve Mr. Waltz’s fans by providing information about his career, and maintain the respectful, dignified tone that CWF has always aspired to create.   If they decide to step down in the future I will return as admin until I can find replacements.

Thank you all so much for your support of CWF, and your friendship to me over the past four years.  You have made CWF a reality, and helped me through one of the most difficult periods of my life.  For this, I will always be grateful to you all, and to Mr. Waltz for his kindness to me and this website.

With best wishes,

Kelley (Sacher)

Kelley, I was shocked and deeply saddened by this post! But I hope you are moving forward to your life brighter with your family. Thank you so much what you have done to us, of course to Mr. Waltz. Please keep your eyes on CWF with lots of love. Cheers.

Don’t be sad! I’m not! I think that a new, enthusiastic pair of hands at the helm is exactly what CWF needs. I’m positive the site will benefit from our new admin team, and I look forward to seeing where they take it. Besides, I’m just an email away for any help/advice needed.

I’m really happy that the site has become what it is right now – something that is bigger than any one person and has the momentum and interest to keep going. When I see how many people care about this site, I feel proud and happy that I built something successful. I’m also so happy that I am in a position where there are so many good people who want to take it on and keep it going. That’s really the true reward for me.

I’m also so happy and excited to embark on the next chapter of my life, and to fufill the next dream of mine – to become a Ph.D. , open up a practice, and do vital research that will help people. It’s been my ambition in life for many many years before CWF and now the time has come where I can do it.

So it’s not a ‘goodbye’ of sorts, it’s a happy occasion 🙂

Dear Sacher,

I am so happy to see you fulfilling your dream of becoming a Ph.D. 😀
You will do great in this, no doubt about it!
We on CWF could not have asked for a better admin and person to start this endeavor we all have though all this years and will enjoy in the future. Without you, this wild ride would not have been possible. During countless hours of joy, we worked on this site and enjoyed watching movies together. Friendships were forged through CWF and to sum it up, we were just having a great time together!
I am sure that CWF lies in good hands with Chelsea and Leyla. And my mailbox is always open when you need my help!

Thank you for all you have done for us! 😀

Leyla, you and Chelsea are awesome and I know you both will guide the site in new and exciting ways together. I’m so happy you both want to take on a role in CWF and hope that if you have any problems, you’ll let me know.

Sacher, we couldn’t be more proud of you…..from the humble beginnings to the success of what CWF has become today… had set a goal, hit a few “bumps” along the way, but through hard work and perseverance, the dream became a reality.

I have all the confidence in the world that CWF will continue to run successfully in Chelsea and Leyla’s hands.

I will miss my travelling buddy. Good times, fond memories, and a friendship was forged through CWF.

We’ll always have Peru…….and NYC……and L.A.

Bravo Shelley, wishing you all good things and the strength you obviously have to continue. My blessings, as I try to get back to acting jobs (maybe to be blessed to work with Mr. Waltz). Love & Prayers to you and your family!

Kelley, I am so pleased for you that your son is doing so well, and that you are able to embark on this grand new adventure! You’ll be missed (and I hope we’ll still see you now and then, maybe?). But you’re leaving the site in such good hands with Chelsea and Leyla. Thank you so much for all that you have done, and happy future adventures to you!

Wow you are such a great example of courage, determination and love! I don’t know if Christoph is aware of your situation but he would certainly be proud of you and what you have accomplished in your personal life and for him. I think you will never know how much this website is important for us because many don’t express their feelings but thank you, thank you so much for your time and your devotion.
I wish you the best for your son and your studies!

And special thanks to Chelsea and Leyla who keep this wonderful website alive!

Best of luck to you. The story of your son is inspiring and I’m certain that with your help and love he will continue to prosper. I am new to the site but can plainly see that you have done an amazing job of which you can be proud of. I am sure that you will miss your “duties” here, but will feel just as fulfilled in your future activities. (SO happy to hear that you are helping with the library in your son’s school. I’m a librarian-and LOVE to see parents involved in their child’s school). I hope that you achieve all that you set out to do and that you continue on the successful path that you have started. Good Luck!
