Christoph Waltz has been acting for over 30 years. He rose to international recognition when cast as "Colonel Hans Landa" in Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds, which was the role that won him his first Academy Award in 2010, and over 40 other international awards.
Mr. Waltz won his second Academy Award in 2013 for his performance in Django Unchained, which was also his second collaboration with Quentin Tarantino. His performance was awarded several international prizes for second time, including the BAFTA and the Golden Globe.

Watching the Oscars from Overseas in the middle of the night, I had to pause several times, because of too many commercials. During skipping the program forwards, later on, my neighbors (100 m away) suddenly cheered loudly. Hoping, to end up in a good thing, I skipped fast forward and YAY! Unbelievable! Congratulations from “over there”!

How fabulous is it that for the rest of his life, his name will be proceeded by “Two-Time Academy Award Winner?” Of course I’m a tad biased, but it’s really touching to see such an honest, humble, SERIOUSLY hard-working guy catapult to this kind of greatness practically overnight. As if Landa weren’t enough of a firestorm, along comes Schultz. So proud and so very happy for you, Mister Waltz. You. Are. FANTASTIC.
Oh, and lest we forget-MAJOR congrats to Mr. Tarantino. Of course, in a perfect world, you would have also won for the even more spectacular Basterds. CONGRATS!

Woke up late this morning and thought, “Wow, I had the greatest dream that Christoph Waltz won Best Supporting Actor!” Then I turned on the TV and realized it wasn’t a “dream” after all. What a wonderful night for him – just a wonderful human being and master of his craft. And thank you Quinten Tarantino for giving Mr. Waltz back his “vocation” and allowing the entire world to be graced with his beauty and talent.

Well done Christoph!! I couldn’t watch it because it was the middle of the night here and I have a stupid job to go to..and even in the morning when I ran to the TV to see the highlights on the main breakfast news they didn’t even mention who won best supporting actor, nothing about him, not a peep

I was very nervous watching the Academy Awards show but I screamed of happiness when
Octavia Spencer announced Christoph Waltz as the winner of the Best Supporting actor category!
By the way, Christoph Waltz is now number “2″ at IMDb’s STARmeter’s Top 10!
Congratulations also to Quentin Tarantino for winning the Oscar of best Original screenplay
for “Django Unchained”! Mr. Waltz and Tarantino are the best actor/Director team ever!
